Polish hotel market becomes more and more important for Germany
(Press release Media agency Müller-Bringmann - Daniel Hartmann)Dinslaken - Caused through the political and economical opening of Poland into direction West, the country has changed dramatically. This refers as well to the Polish hotel and tourism scene. Modernity has reached Polish hotels but the demands are enormous. The Polish hotel industry and gastronomy orients itself especially to German standards. This was proven at the first Hotel Profit event of Polish hotels in Warsaw. There Hans Jürgen Rüffert was invited as a guest speaker. The hotel professional from Dinslaken is an expert for Polish hotels and realises that both countries can profit in the coming years from the future development on the Polish hotel market.
"Poland is a market of growth with big potential", says the 39-year old. In the past, more and more German companies have relocated parts of their operation to Poland. Also International hotel chains and hotel co operations are showing an increased presence. Many foreign business travellers are travelling to Germany's neighbour. As well, short and city breakers are travelling to Poland utilizing the newly created flight connections offered by discount airlines. Like in Germany there exists in some destinations, for example, in Warsaw, an enormous overcapacity of hotels which puts pressure on the price. Because of this situation, hotels have to position themselves correctly on the market. "They are trying to learn from the mistakes of the hotel industry in Western Europe. Still there is a big lack of knowledge regarding modern distribution methods. ", explains Rüffert. For example only a section of Polish hotels are represented in electronic distribution channels. "The organisation of hotels within a cooperation is only partly happening. For Western hotel co operations, surely there exists an enormous potential. "
Also in Poland, Western management methods and techniques are on the forefront. "At present there are many companies who specialise on the so called mystery audits. These are helping Polish hotels to improve their service offers. Also companies with strengths in hotel-interims management have got their opportunities on the Polish market", realizes the consultant.
At the Hotel Profit congress in Warsaw, Rüffert spoke to 120 hoteliers over the expectations of Western business travellers to Polish hotels. He explained the meaning and importance of electronic distribution. "Over 50 percent of hotel bookings are being made via the Internet. " He made it clear that technical standards should be of a high level but that the personal note is important. Polish hotels should present and sell themselves with confidence. "Each hotel has to find its own market niche on the market and know which target group should be addressed. "
Rüffert worked a long time for a German hotel company which extended its presence in the Eastern European market. In Gliwice near Katowice he was mainly responsible for electronic distribution of individual hotels.
The hotel professional from Dinslaken, Hans Jürgen Rüffert with his company "revway" aims to show the hotel industry new ways in order to maximise revenue and will support the Polish hotel industry.
